Better plastic sheds or wooden sheds?

I need a garden storage shed. I was thinking of buying a plastic shed, probably much easier to maintain than wooden sheds. I like wood but I think it requires more maintenance. I'm really in doubt. Could you give any good reason to choose one rather than the other? What are the other benefits of plastic sheds?

First of all consider that plastic sheds are much cheaper than wooden sheds. I paid about £ 200 for my plastic shed 6x4 but I'm quite satisfied since it is perfectly waterproof and won't change colour or aspect with the passing of time. Unfortunately, as you said, plastic is not as nice as wood and it definitely doesn't give an added value to your garden. You can find cheap sheds for sale at Keter, a shop specialised in Outdoor Storage, Plastic Sheds, Deck Boxes.

I built my own tool shed and I made it of wood, cedar to be precise. I like its fragrance and moreover it is extremely resistant to whether (its oils are water repellent) and to infestations. It was not difficult. You can find the instructions in the tutorial video in attachment.

Nevertheless, if I had to buy one I would probably choose a plastic shed, definitely much simpler to fix and much cheaper.

Plastic sheds are definitely easy to build and require little maintainance.

Normally, you can find grey or green plastic sheds in stores specialised in outdoor furniture. In my opinion green is the best colour since it is more integrated wtih your garden. I bought a grey shed and I tried to make it more aesthetically agreeable by painting it of the same colour of my house's façade. Unfortunately it didn't work since platic cannot be painted. But I will try to make it nicer by planting some creepers!
