How to Choose the Right Water Filter?

I really want water purified at home. Maybe the most efficient way is getting a good water filter effective at removing inorganic sediments, pathogens and particulates and preserving significant minerals from the water. I know that water from the city has generally already been filtered of major dirt and germs so it is safe to drink, but it often still has mineral contents in it which lend it a strange odour or odd taste.
If any of you would have any suggestions about some of the best water filter brands or types on the market that might help me choose, I would really appreciate it!

If you live in a rental unit and cannot tap into the pipes, a Faucet Mount or Countertop water filter could be a perfect solution for you. The Faucet Mount unit, indeed, ensures great tasting water at the end of your tap and it takes only minutes to install. The Countertop Water Filters, such as the Pur Plus Countertop by Pur, are really easy to use and affordable, too.

It may be interesting or you probably already know that water filters usually work at about 1 litre per minute, either using a pump or gravity, and it is now possible to choose from a variety of systems based on its cost and uses. If you are looking for a low-cost water filter, I suggest you the Pur Ultimate Faucet Mount. It removes contaminants and will give you filtered water good for general uses such as baths, showers, health purposes and laundry.

If you want to have purified water, make sure to check the costs of maintaining the whole system before buying one. First of all, consider your living situation (renting or owning) but avoid buying a water filter that is offered at a very cheap price but requires a lot of maintenance. You can also find on the market quite cheap whole house water filters especially designed for easy installation at a reasonable cost that are not really expensive to maintain. In order to get the right system, it is better to check the chemical characteristics of your water.
