Is linen bedding luxury enough of a wedding night?

Next month my sister will get married. My mum fortunately was not one of those women who have stored bed sheets and towels for years but now the situation is quite urgent. We're looking for a luxury bedding set for her wedding night. I wouldn't like something too bizarre but it should be unique anyway. And most of all, reusable! I find silk sheets quite uncomfortable and she hates laces. I was thinking of a linen bedding set. Are there any disadvantages in linen that we should know before making this purchase?

Woods of Harrogate is one of the best interior design company producing quality bedding in UK. I bought many things by this firm and in particular I found luxury bedding sets that I still can use after many years. I suggest you to have a look at their luxury collection and in particular at their Egyptian cotton bed sets: they are marvellous! You can see them in the picture I have attached. But if you prefer linen, then I recommend you to buy Italian linen bedding. Italian linen is traditionally the best one you can find on the market.

Well, as far as I know, pure linen is one of the best fabric for beddings and until some decades ago it was even more common than cotton. The reason are several: it seems to kill bacteria and microflora so that it does not cause allergies, stimulates blood flow, absorbs moisture and is very resistant, much more than cotton. Linen bedding sets are quite expensive nowadays but I suppose that for your wedding night you won't be looking for cheap beddings. I think there is nothing more sophisticated than linen sheets.

I definitely like linen sheets: linen is environmentally friendly since it is a renewable resource and it doesn't need irrigation. Obviously if you buy luxury sheets you will have to buy a luxury duvet cover too. I've just bought a sophisticated 100% Egyptian cotton sateen quilt cover by Sheridan. Even if the duvet doesn't touch your skin directly , better to avoid synthetic fibres especially if you suffer from any allergies or if you sweat a lot. Also the filling should be natural.
